In a bid to find ways to highlight and enhance the profile of the Asia-Pacific region amongst the Portuguese people, Philippine Ambassador to Portugal Philippe J. Lhuillier organizes an informal gathering with fellow Asia-Pacific ambassadors on December 2, 2014 in Lisbon.
Out of the 11 countries from Asia and the Pacific that have diplomatic presence in Portugal, six ambassadors, namely from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Pakistan, are present during the lunch meeting.
The group unanimously welcomes Ambassador Lhuillier’s proposal for regular activities to be held in which Portuguese guests from several sectors including the government, business, academe, politics, and media would be invited. These events aim to generate better awareness and discuss relevant issues between Portugal and the Asia-Pacific region.
