Maala-ala Mo Kaya is set for another tribute today, May 9. This time, Queen of Soap Operas JUDY ANN SANTOS will pay accolade to mothers all over the world. The story is about a mother who only wants to give the best for her children. Belen (Judy Ann), married to irresponsible husband (Ian De Leon), was forced to leave her family behind to undergo training in Manila to work abroad. Three months after, she found out that her children was sold by her husband.
On a pocket presscon last May 7, Juday shared experiences in doing the project and about motherhood as well. 2008 was Juday’s last MMK (Lason), and according to her it was totally different. It will be a major turn around because tonight, she will show the courage and the love of a mother to her children. She was asked what did she feel portraying Belen, Juday answered, “Siguro mahihiya ako sa kanya. Kung sa katiting na problema ko, gi-give up ako kumpara sa pinagdaanan nya, talagang hats off ay Belen dahil cya ang epitomeya ng isang dakilang ina, cya talaga yun.” Regarding in preparation, se said she didn’t sleep for two days after getting the script. Iniisip ko kung paano cya itatawid. Kasi naisip ko bakit ba itong istorya na to napili ko eh ang hirap-hirap, pwede naman iba. Then I realized the dapat cyang gawin to be an inspiration to other mothers out there. Nanibago talaga ako, nanginig laman ko talaga.”
On the other hand, Juday also shared her motherhood experience. It looks like that she is very hands on when it comes to her family. She is making sure that she attends to all their needs from the time they wake up until they sleep. Her opinion about mothers who are facing difficulties is depending on the situation. For her, if a mother has a capacity to look for option, definitely she will look for one. Juday also believes that every woman has the strong will and courage to face hardship in life no matter what. If the hardest is the last option, for her family, definitely she will take it. Two things she learned form being a mother are patience and compassion. “Kahit gaano kapuyat, kahit gaano kapagod, pagdating sa mga anak mo, wala, wala na yung mga yun. Hindi mo na pwede isipin yun. Basta para sa mga bata okay tatayo ako,” Juday stated.
