How #ShowtimeKapamilyaDay Vs. AlDubEBForLove fared in TV ratings? | Kantar Media, NUTAM, AGB Nielsen

Last Saturday, ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” had their 6th Anniversary at Araneta Coliseum and GMA 7’s“Eat Bulaga” had their regular program for their National Pabebe Wave Day. But even if “It’s Showtime” had their star-studded anniversary in Araneta, Eat Bulaga still reigned on top both TV ratings and Twitterverse.


Yet again, the phenomenal AlDub broke its own 12 million record in Twitter from last week and garnered 25 million tweets for #AlDubEBforLove. Meanwhile “It’s Showtime,” gained almost 7 million tweets with their #ShowtimeKapamilyaDay.

As we can see if the number of tweets would be the basis, ”It’s Showtime” certainly did not get ahead in the online clash with Eat Bulaga.

How about in TV ratings?

Just recently, TV ratings results last Saturday has already been out.


Other than Kantar Media, two of the biggest market research firms in the Philippines also gave out their ratings on the two noontime shows last Saturday and the result was:

AGB Nielsen Mega Manila
Eat Bulaga 45.7%
It’s Showtime 11.9%

National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM)
Eat Bulaga 37.2%
Its Showtime 17.4%

Still Eat Bulaga is on top when it comes to noontime show ratings. But many solid ‘Kapamilya’ states their opinions that whatever the ratings would be, it is still not the basis on how happy a TV viewer or social media enthusiast. What important is that, both shows did their very best to make their fans happy and entertained.
