Daniel met Erich for the first time in the show Kris TV, when they joined Kris in one of her trips to Palawan. His first impression of her was “Erich was pretty and very nice.” Erich on the other hand thought that because of his good looks, he’d be arrogant. But all that changed when they started talking, she discovered that he’s humble, very down to earth, easy to be around with and funny.
After that first meeting the two became good friends, and it was during the taping of the series ‘Two Wives’ that they became closer. At that time, Erich was still with her non-showbiz boyfriend of 4 years.
It was during Christmas last year that Erich admitted she was starting to have problems with her non-showbiz boyfriend. She did not tell Daniel that her relationship was rocky. Daniel on the other hand, did not court Erich immediately eventhough he found out that she was once again single.
Daniel always believes that God really has his own timing. He said that it’s something you don’t have to rush, he has always waited, have faith and trusted God.
Since the beginning of their relationship, they have decided to keep it low and private, just the two of them. Their status became known to the public when they started posting photos of their being sweet together in April 2015. Since then many have expressed their opinion on the couple’s relationship.
Erich shared that whenever they are together, Daniel is always so caring, always asking ‘Are you okay? Is there anything you need?’ He makes sure that she is comfortable, that she is safe and everything is okay, and she really appreciated that nice feeling to be treated like a queen.
Daniel meanwhile, shares that Erich’s carbonara is the best that’s why he falls in love with her, he loves to eat, and she really cooks for Daniel – like his favorite Nilagang Baka (Bulalo), Ginisang Monggo, Sinigang na Hipon, Chicken Adobo, etc.
They look so happy together, and in one guesting in KrisTV, Kris said she was surprised that Daniel & Erich has maintained that “happiness” thing when they are together, when she asked them “how do they maintain it?” Daniel said Erich is “makulit” in a funny way, and Erich said she can’t explain the happiness they feel whenever they are together, it’s joy and happiness from within she added.
They are 8 months into the relationship and they haven’t fight at all. Dan said they don’t want “it” into the relationship, so whenever they have a problem with each other, they have to talk it over, and the small stuff they don’t make a big deal out of it.
On working together, as of this writing, they are doing a teleserye “Be My Lady”, at first Erich was a bit concerned as to how they would handle the whole scenario of working together, but surprisingly, according to both of them they are so ok, in fact they even help each other, specially with the lines, they practice, throw lines with each other.
They love to do things together, like go to the gym, travel a lot, and they’ve been to Hongkong, Paris, Japan, and Amsterdam, and Daniel kidded that the next trip will be in Brazil.
On his Instagram account (@dandanmatsunaga) he posted a Birthday greetings for Erich (and his Sister Vanessa, they have the same birthday).
“My spartan baby I love you so much! with God always in the center of our relationship there will be forever for us…and I can’t wait for that…I will see you both in a bit … Happy Happy Birthday to you 2!!!! I wish u both always the best in life and I will give my life for you both… Many many more years to come!!! May God always be in front of everything we do!! I love you!”
Aside from sweet message, Daniel surprised his Spartan baby (that’s how he calls Erich) while she was in a recording studio. The actress cannot contain her happiness and describe it a special celebration.
On her Instagram account (@erichgg), she posted a photo of Daniel with a caption, “Because of all your efforts, my birthday was not just a happy one but a special celebration. All the surprises and effort reminded me that today is a special day to celebrate. God has given me everything but the best gift is you. Obrigada meu amor, Eu te amo.”
When asked whether their relationship is fo keeps,Daniel said “Of course. I can see hundred years down the road.” In another interview Daniel said he waited for three years to have a relationship like this.
Erich on her part said “We leave everything in God’s hands, He alone knows what’s going to happen, it’s Him alone who knows if we’re meant for each other”.
