“#WalangForever emerged as the biggest winner of the “41st Metro Manila Film Festival” (MMFF), bagging six awards, including the major awards of Best Festival Picture, Best Actress, and Best Actor. The film was also given the special award, FPJ Memorial Award for Film Excellence.
The Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales movie has been praised by critics early on. It was expected by a lot of people to win many awards prior to the MMFF awarding ceremonies. But it is a rare occasion wherein both the Best Actor and the Best Actress are from the same movie. This shows how much work was put in the film not only by the actors but also by all the people involved in making the movie.
The #WalangForever movie is actually a success from the beginning. Aside from the fact that it has been predicted that it will receive many awards because of its great storyline, the tandem of two respected actors in Philippine showbiz, Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales, gave it an early edge. Jennylyn and Echo only needed a good script that would bring their acting skills to the fore. And sure enough, #WalangForever brought out the best in them.
The romantic-comedy film directed by Dan Villegas tackles the life of a celebrated writer named Mia (Jennylyn Mercado), and her relationship with Ethan (Jericho Rosales). The title is an apt summary of the plot of the film, wherein the protagonist has become cynical about the concept of everlasting love.
