During the heat of topic on who will be the next Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, as camps of Rep. Leni Robredo and Sen. Bongbong Marcos both claimed victory on their own partial and unofficial tally.
According to Robredo’s camp, with all the remaining votes combined, Robredo will still trump closest rival by a hairline. In a program after offering a thanksgiving Mass at the Church of the Gesù at the Ateneo de Manila University, the Robredo camp said that with the congresswoman’s current lead of 257,567 deducted by the 233,226 uncounted votes, they will still lead with 24, 341 votes over Marcos. Meanwhile, Marcos’s camp on Tuesday claimed that he is leading the vice presidential race maintaining a lead of more than 100,000 votes over his closest rival in a press conference at Marcos’ campaign headquarters in Mandaluyong City. The uncounted votes are said to be from local votes, overseas absentee votes, and local absentee votes.
Different netizens and of course trolls on Social Media took to Twitter their sentiments over the results. But one troll hiding under the username @Malditangmayora has tweeted, “CHEAT has 4 letters. So does LENI.” with hashtag #DayaangMatuwad.
This tweet did not sit well with comedienne Ethel Gabison, more known by her stage name ‘Ethel Booba.’ Gabison quoted Mayora Maldita’s tweet, saying, “CHEAT has 5 letters, same with IDIOT. Charot!”
Gabison’s tweet was retweeted 330 times and was “liked” by more than 1,177 users as of this writing.
