Karen Davila, the 2016 KBP Golden Dove Awards Best Public Service Program host, celebrated the third year of her award-winning program “My Puhunan” with hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs in the “My Puhunan Kabuhayan Caravan” last Saturday (July 23) at the Quezon City Hall.

Around two hundred fifty people, composed of fathers and mothers who are looking for new or additional sources of livelihood, benefitted in the event, which had experts and people with success stories share tips on how to start and maintain a business. They included financial guru Vic Garcia and “Lugaw Queen” Beverly Aquino, who shared her experience in building the famous porridge empire in Laguna from just a capital of P1,000. Apart from knowledge and inspiration, participants were also gifted with Kabuhayan Packages that can help them jump start their own business.
Davila expressed on her Instagram account how fulfilled she is to be part of a program that helps people improve their lives. “Tatlong taon po kaming tumutulong para kumita ng pera, matutong magnegosyo ang ating mga mahihirap na kababayan! Basta’t kung tayo’y maabilidad, marunong magnegosyo – hindi magugutom ang ating pamilya,” she said.
Netizens also had good words for the show. One Twitter user posted, “thank you so much miss @iamkarendavila for sharing and educating Filipinos how to make business and to be financial savvy,” while another one commented, “salamat sa My Puhunan at marami akong natutunan, may pagkain pa, at papremyo…Happy anniversary My Puhunan,” on the program’s Facebook page.
