In a report published on Abante.com.ph, award-winning actor John Lloyd Cruz is being courted to portray the role of “Juan Luna” in a movie. The former Viva artist manager, Anna Bautista talked about her new film as a producer.
“Hindi pa tapos ang script ng Juan Luna. Plano naming mag-shoot abroad, sa Europe. We’re still working on the script, kasi historical, eh. Hindi kami puwedeng magkamali. Ang aking research guy ay si Vic Torres ng LaSalle,” Anna shared.
“This is something na may appeal sa international market. I just don’t wanna concentrate sa Filipino market, kasi mas global na dapat ang isipin mo. And plano ko siyempre na i-sell ito sa abroad. At sa abroad ang binibili talaga nila ngayon ay mga historical,” she continued.
“The only way na para maibenta mo ang project mo, dapat it caters your own culture. Hindi ka puwedeng sumabay sa Hollywood. You have to have uniqueness,” she further explained.
Anna also said that he only has John Lloyd on his list to portray the iconic role.
“Pero si John Lloyd talaga ang gusto ko na gumanap na Juan Luna. Wala akong makita na ibang puwede. Wala talagang iba.We’ll see. Wala pang negotiation,” she said.
“Pero sana makuha namin. At saka, ang alam ko ang gusto rin talaga ni John Lloyd na mga pelikula ngayon ay ‘yung parang mga ganito raw. Well, sana tanggapin niya,” she added.
