The PETA Theater Center welcomed a full house on June 25 as theater lovers, members of the entertainment industry, media personalities, and guests gathered for the gala night of Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live sa Cheter!. The highly anticipated stage adaptation of the beloved satirical franchise proved that its signature humor and fearless social commentary remain as relevant and entertaining as ever—this time, in the thrilling setting of live theater.

Long before the curtains opened, excitement filled the venue. Guests mingled in the lobby, posed for photos, and eagerly discussed what surprises awaited them as the iconic franchise made its first leap from the big screen to the stage. The atmosphere reflected the anticipation surrounding a production that has built a reputation for blending outrageous comedy with sharp observations about Philippine entertainment and society.

The moment the performance began, the audience was immediately drawn into a whirlwind of theatrical chaos. Fast-paced dialogue, clever satire, and unexpected twists kept viewers laughing throughout the evening, while the production’s “play within a play” concept cleverly explored the complexities of staging art, creative ambition, and the realities behind the entertainment industry.

Leading the production was the incomparable Eugene Domingo, whose commanding stage presence anchored the entire performance. Her impeccable comedic timing and boundless energy transformed every scene into a delightful spectacle, effortlessly balancing over-the-top humor with moments of sincerity. Supported by an equally dynamic ensemble cast, the production maintained an infectious rhythm that rarely gave the audience a chance to catch its breath between laughs.

Beyond the comedy, the play challenged audiences to reflect on larger questions about power, artistic integrity, celebrity culture, and the purpose of storytelling. Instead of offering simple answers, the production encouraged viewers to sit with its satire, allowing the humor to spark conversations that extend far beyond the theater walls.

The audience’s reaction spoke volumes. Waves of laughter echoed throughout the performance, followed by thoughtful silence during its more poignant moments. By the final curtain call, the theater erupted into enthusiastic applause, with many audience members rising to their feet in recognition of the cast’s remarkable performance and the creative team’s bold vision.

Among those in attendance was Barbie Forteza, who praised the production after the show. She described the experience as both entertaining and thought-provoking, encouraging audiences to watch the play and experience its unique blend of laughter, chaos, and meaningful satire for themselves. Her positive reaction echoed the sentiments shared by many guests who left the theater impressed by how successfully the production balanced comedy with social commentary.

Following the performance, guests gathered in the lobby to congratulate the cast and exchange their favorite moments from the evening. Conversations centered on the production’s witty script, inventive staging, and the way it fearlessly examined the realities of creating art while never losing its sense of humor.

More than a theatrical adaptation, Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live sa Cheter! is a celebration of Philippine theater’s ability to entertain while provoking meaningful reflection. It reminds audiences that laughter can be one of the most effective ways to question society, challenge perspectives, and inspire conversation.

Now running at the PETA Theater Center until August 16, 2026, the production stands as one of this year’s must-see theatrical events—offering audiences an unforgettable evening filled with satire, exceptional performances, and the unmistakable charm that has made the Ang Babae sa Septic Tank franchise a modern Filipino classic.
