ABS-CBN led the 2018 Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) Hiyas ng Sining Awards with a 17 award-haul including “TV Station of the Year” for the second consecutive year, Radio Station of the Year and the Best AM Radio Station awards for its AM radio station, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, and Best FM Radio Station for its FM music and entertainment station MOR 101.9.

Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin led the awards for artists as they won Best Actor and Best Actress in a single performance for their work in episodes of the longest-running drama anthology “Maalala Mo Kaya.”

Meanwhile, Maja Salvador and RK Bagatsing, stars of “Wildflower,” won Best Actress and Best Actor in a TV Series as Dimples Romana won Best Performance in a Supporting Role for TV for her work in hit family drama “The Greatest Love.”

“The Good Son,” which was recognized for its portrayal of strong family values, nabbed the award for Best TV Series while internationally produced series “Goblin,” which airs exclusively on ABS-CBN locally, won Best Foreign Series.

Sunday variety show “ASAP” and reality game show “I Can See Your Voice” both took home the Best TV Program award while “I Can See Your Voice” host Luis Manzano won Best TV Program host.

Ted Failon was recognized as Best Male News Program Anchor for his work in “TV Patrol” while Atty. Claire Castro won Best Female Radio Broadcaster for her work in radio show “Usapang De Campanilla.”

“Changing Partners,” a Cinema One Originals production, continues to earn acclaim as it won the award for Natatanging Pelikulang Pangkasarian.

ABS-CBN Publishing’s Metro Magazine, the country’s premiere lifestyle glossy, won Best Magazine.

The Hiyas ng Sining is given by GEMS, an organization composed of teachers, academic professionals, and students from prestigious academic institutions in the Philippines. It aims to recognize excellent projects and personalities in the field of television, film, radio, literature, and theater.
