- Piolo Pascual, Kim Chiu and Robi Domingo to host 66th FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal

Piolo Pascual, Kim Chiu, and Robi Domingo have been confirmed to be the hosts of this year’s 66th FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal, scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Theatre at Solaire.
“Piolo, Kim and Robbie bring with them glamor and elegance to any event that they are part of, and we are only too happy that they have agreed to host this year’s FAMAS Awards,” said Megavision’s Madonna Sanchez, Executive Producer for the FAMAS 66th Gabi ng Parangal.
Piolo Pascual is a multiple-award winning actor, having won the FAMAS Best Actor trophy for Milan (2004) and a FAMAS Best Supporting Actor award for Dekada ’70 (2002). He has also been a recipient of the Fernado Poe Jr. Memorial and the German Moreno Youth Achievement Awards, aside from receiving multiple nominations over the years.
Kim Chiu is another FAMAS multiple nominee, having been nominated for Best Actress for The Healing (2012) and Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo (2013). She is also a recipient of the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award.
Like his fellow hosts, Robi Domingo is a recipient of the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award and has received praise for his appearances on television and film.
Cinemalaya winner Respeto leads all films this year with 15 nominations, followed by QCinema Best Film Balangiga, Howling wilderness with 11 and Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture Ang Larawan with six, the same with the Philippine entry to the Oscars Birdshot and the documentary Yield. with five nominations are Love You to the Stars and Back, Changing Partners, Nervous Translation and Historiographika Errata.
All nominees will be feted at a Nominees Victory Party to be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Victorino’s Restaurant in Quezon City.
Established in 1952, the FAMAS AWARDS is presented by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences and has long been considered as one of the most prestigious honors in the Philippine film industry. All Filipino-produced films that premiered in 2017 that had at least one commercial screening are qualified for this year’s awards. An independent jury headed by multi-award winning writer Ricardo Lee film and composed of practitioners, critics and educators as members selected the nominees and will vote for the winners.
