  • After six months, March 22 will mark the end of the family, romance, and comedy-drama series
  • ‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit’ is the newest daytime series of ABS CBN that will replace the ‘PlayHouse’ timeslot

‘Playhouse,’ the daytime series of ABS-CBN, which started last September 2018, and stars Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo, is now down to its final week. The series also stars JJ Quilantang, Maxene Magalona, Kian Cipriano, Isabelle Daza, Nadia Montenegro, Smokey Manaloto, Malou de Guzman, AC Bonifacio, Kean Cipriano, Donny Pangilinan, and Kisses Delavin; and is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian.

After six months, March 22 marks the end of the family, romance, and comedy-drama series. Yet, the finale of their episodes which is getting more intense and exciting has led the ratings to crawl up higher against its rival in GMA Network, the daytime series ‘Hiram na Anak.’

Playhouse proved to be a successful tandem of Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo for the first time because of the positive response,  and according to the ratings they get. On March 4, Monday, Playhouse earned 15.0% of ratings while rival ‘Hiram na Anak’ only got 5.7% (Urban +Rural) audience share.

However, if there is an outgoing series, there will also be an incoming show.

‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit’ is the newest daytime series of ABS-CBN that will replace the ‘PlayHouse’ timeslot. Actor-host Keempee de Leon will also star in this new series, as his first project after returning to ABS CBN.

Also on this show, Cristine Reyes will be cast as the antagonist, which excites netizens because after 11 years, Cristine Reyes will be a playing a contravida role.

The full trailer of ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ was first released last March 5, Tuesday.  It focused on how the lead role Sophia Riola as MikMik brings smile and positiveness to every Filipino viewer and how she fought for her mom’s life (Kaye Abad) at an early age. This is, indeed, an inspirational series for the Filipino family.

‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ is under the RSB Drama unit, which also produced series like “Araw Gabi.”
