Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, one of the most popular love teams in showbiz, are going strong on their seventh year as a couple.
While some relationships experience the seven-year itch, that doesn’t seem to be true for KathNiel.
According to Kathryn Bernardo in an interview with PEP, their seventh year as a couple has been their best year together.
“Para sa akin, pinaka-best year namin itong seventh year. Baligtad nga, kasi ang daming magagandang nangyayari.”
Kathryn even shared how they surpassed the problems that they faced in their relationship like normal couples.
“Kung may hindi maayos na nangyari, napag-uusapan namin siya at naha-handle namin siya nang tama. Kasi siguro nga, medyo tumanda na rin, nag-mature na, timplado na niya. The best for me.”

The actress even revealed that she wrote her lengthy anniversary letter to Daniel Padilla on a flight from Hong Kong to Manila which became viral on social media.
The said letter was supposed to be for Daniel’s birthday but since she wasn’t able to finish it she decided to give it on their anniversary instead.
“Dapat kasi noong birthday pa niya iyan, ginagawa ko iyan noong flight. Tapos hindi pa siya natapos, kasi nga galing ako ng shooting. Sabi ko sakto ipo-post ko siya sa anniversary namin.”
The letter was given as a surprise to Daniel.
“Lahat ‘yun from the heart. Ayaw pa niya akong ipag-phone that time. Sabi ko, matatapos na sa Manila, magtu-12, may kailangan akong gawin. Tapos doon niya lang nakita after ng ilang minutes. Surprise ‘yun.”
They even celebrated their seventh year anniversary in Morocco since Kathryn wanted to go to an exotic place.
“Yun ang napili namin, kasi ‘yun ang gusto ko. Sinabi ko kay DJ na gusto kong pumunta sa isang lugar na ‘di pa namin napuntahan but exotic. And ‘yung culture talaga na nagawa namin ang lahat ng gusto naming gawin.”
It was last year that KathNiel confirmed their relationship in August 2018. Here’s a timeline of how the KathNiel romance began and progressed through the years:
2011, Kathryn and Daniel were first paired together in the youth-oriented show, Growing Up. Daniel came in as a replacement for Albie Casino.
2012, KathNiel had their first teleserye together, Princess and I, with Khalil Ramos and Enrique Gil. This was when the KathNiel fandom really picked up.
2013, KathNiel had their first movie together Must Be… Love with Liza Soberano who played the third party.
Later that year, the two were recognized as Box Office King and Queen for their movie She’s Dating the Gangster. More box office hits followed. Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016), Can’t Help Falling In Love (2017), and most recently The Hows Of Us (2018).
In August of last year, the couple admitted their relationship at a press conference of their movie, The Hows of Us.
