It was in June 2010 when John Lloyd Cruz confirmed his relationship with Shaina Magdayao. The couple’s two-year relationship managed to survive a string of controversies and intrigues, including their alleged ‘hospital scandal’ and a rift over Cruz’s communication with his rumored ex actress-host Ruffa Gutierrez. Angelica Panganiban was rumored to be the cause of the couple’s split up.
Several years later, they both assured fans that there was no bad blood between them and they even momentarily worked together on a drama series.
At the press conference of the digital series ‘Past, Present, Perfect’ on Tuesday, director Dwein Baltazar revealed that she wants to do a movie with Cruz after his showbiz hiatus and asked Magdayao if she could be the leading lady.
However, the actress seemed to disagree with the director’s idea.
Speaking with reporters after the press conference, Magdayao admitted that she doesn’t see herself working again with Cruz in the future.
“Parang hindi po mangyayari. Parang hindi ko siya nakikitang mangyayari. Hindi eh,” she said.
The actress also asked the media to respect his privacy.
“Nananahimik ‘yung tao, irespeto natin. I think it would be very unfair kung dadalhin ko ‘yung pangalan niya. I mean ang dami ko rin namang ibang ginagawa na walang kinalaman siya, so siguro gusto ko na lang iwan don. Gusto ko siyang irespeto kung nasaan man siya sa buhay niya ngayon,” Shaina stressed.
Afterwards, Magdayao also gave a candid answer when asked if she and Piolo Pascual ever shared something romantic.
“Hindi,” she said directly. “Nandiyan lang siya. Hayaan lang natin. Kapag dumating naman ‘yung future kagaya ng sabi ko, sasabihin ko naman.”
Magdayao stars with Loisa Andalio in iWant’s newest original series ‘Past, Present, Perfect.’
