After several weeks of being silent on the cheating allegations he’s involved in, Gerald Anderson has finally addressed the issue.
In a number of media interviews, Gerald reiterated that there was no third party involved in his breakup with Bea.
The Kapamilya actor also maintained that the issue is personal between the two of them.
While the public has been so consumed with the issue, Gerald asked for respect. He said people should stop capitalizing on the issue and stop making fun of it.
He appealed to the public for respect because they too are human who possesses the same emotions.
“And just hope and pray and everybody respects…You guys had fun, you guys had fun with it, and huwag ninyong kalimutan na kahit celebrities kami, tao pa rin kami…We have the same emotions you guys have…It hasn’t been easy sa kahit anong party or the people involved…Konting respeto lang,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gerald said he still treasures the good times he had with Bea.
He said he will never forget all the good memories and moments that they’ve shared. And that no negativity, no comments or memes can erase those.
“But, kahit naging ganito ang ending namin, it doesn’t defy what we had…At the end of the day, no negativity, no comment, no meme, nothing…Kahit pinagtatawanan ng maraming tao…That I will never forget yung mga good moments namin that we had together…There were a lot of good moments,” he shared.
The Gerald-Bea controversy started when Bea posted a cryptic message on Instagram saying “You can’t make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a choice. ENOUGH.”
It was followed by the actress liking the alleged “date” photo of Gerald and Julia Barretto.
Bea in a statement also said that there was no formal breakup between them and that Gerald just started not talking to her.
“Honestly, to my understanding we did not break up. He just started not talking to me,” said Bea during the press presentation of her latest teleserye.
In 2010, they had what Bea described as a whirlwind relationship which lasted for only a few months. The two got back together in 2016 after doing the film How To Be Yours. Since then, their relationship has been on and off marked by several controversies involving third parties. And the last straw was this recent controversy involving Julia Barretto.
