Manila, Philippines – Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation (SEPCO) just gave a boost to Tulay ng Buhay at Pag-asa Foundation, Inc. by donating three LFD units for their educational programs.

The LFD units will be used as learning devices in three of the foundation’s facilities, namely the HANBI ICT Center, Day Care Center, and Tutorial Service Area.

SEPCO CSV and Government Relations Head Nico Garcia (center right) hands over the LFD units to Tulay ng Buhay at Pag-asa Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Rev. Dr. Park Sun Ho (center left), volunteer teachers, and staff.

Together, the three rooms accommodate more than 300 students who receive free schooling and certification for employability.

Tulay ng Buhay at Pag-asa Foundation is a non-government organization (NGO) that helps marginalized communities in Bagumbayan North and Navotas through learning initiatives.

“Samsung has long supported the work of Tulay ng Buhay at Pag-asa Foundation, and we are a witness to the number of families it helped over the years,” shares Nico Garcia, SEPCO CSV and Government Relations head.

“We wish to continue improving the foundation’s capacity by creating a smart and digitized learning environment.

We want to equip its students with competitive skills that elevate their readiness for sustainable livelihood opportunities.”

Established in 2006, the NGO has produced hundreds of graduates who now work for the city government of Navotas and Malabon, and in several private offices in the area.

It started with the HANBI ICT Center, which offers information technology training for out-of-school youth.

The center was opened with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Korea.

The program offerings eventually expanded to cater to underprivileged kids and mothers of the community.

The foundation now operates a Day Care Center, Tutorial Service Area, Baking class, and Bag-making workshop.

“We are grateful for Samsung’s continued support in our initiatives.

Our student count in all programs is steadily growing every year, which poses the need for better facilities and equipment,” says Reverend Dr. Park Sun Ho, Tulay ng Buhay at Pag-asa Foundation, Inc. executive director.

“With the new LFD units, we are confident that our programs will roll out efficiently and provide better learning experience to our beneficiaries.”

SEPCO dedicates its social responsibility efforts to nation-building projects through partnerships with global and local organizations.

This donation drive is the second leg of the Samsung Love and Care Program, with the first being the TV units grant for the World Mission Community (WMC) Center in Baseco.
