  • Ai-Ai delas Alas aired her frank comments about the Miss World 2019 candidates who wore gowns with slits
  • She questioned why most of them wore the same style of gown
  • Michelle Dee was crowned as Miss World Philippines 2019

Film actress and comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas aired her frank comments about the gowns of the Miss World 2019 winners in her Instagram post last September 16, Monday.

Ai-Ai questioned why most of the candidates wore slit gowns during the coronation night which she described as “weird”.

“Ms world 2019 ..

The actress added that the slit gowns seemed inappropriate for the candidates unlike Catriona Gray who wore it perfectly during the Miss Universe 2019 pageant.

Some netizens agreed with her observation that the candidates lacked elegance while using the gowns with slits.

Michelle Dee, the daughter of iconic beauty queen Melanie Marquez, was crowned as the Miss World Philippines 2019 on Sunday, September 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, outshining the other 39 other candidates. She will represent the Philippines during the Miss World 2019 this December.

Five other women also emerged victorious during the coronation night:

• Kelley Day as Miss Eco Philippines 2019
• Isabelle de Leon as Miss Multinational Philippines 2019
• Katrina Llegado as Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019
• Vanessa Mae Walters as Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2019
• Glyssa Leiann Perez as Miss Tourism Philippines 2019

Meanwhile, Shannon Christie Kerver won as 1st princess, and Casie Banks as 2nd princess.

The Miss World 2019 winners will soon be representing the country in their respective international competitions abroad.
