‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit’ remains undefeated despite new rival in Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto’s ‘Wagas’

NUTAM only gets their data from selected urban areas in the Philippines.

GMA Network’s ‘Wagas’ second offering Wait Lang…Is This Love? topbilled by Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto began airing last September 30, the newest rival to ABS-CBN’s hit morning teleserye ‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit.

The newest Kapuso offering started at 3.3% on Monday (September 30) morning while its rival Kapamilya teleserye got 6.6%. The two shows closed the week with 4.3%, 6.7%, in favor of ABS-CBN’s ‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit.

‘Wait Lang…Is This Love?’ revolves around the story of Yummy Bubuyog (Barbie), who is already 21 years old but has never experienced what it’s like to be in a relationship. She is the “no-boyfriend-since-birth” type of girl, though she claims that this is “by choice” because of her two strict and overprotective man-hater aunts: Tita Gloria (Yayo Aguila) and Tita Sonya (Tina Paner) who have taken of Yummy since her mother, Leticia, passed away.

Good thing Yummy has the company of her friends–the sassy and ‘woke’ Bane (Ayra Mariano), who works with her in “Walang Ka-Pares” as an all-around staff member, and the handsome and mischievous Eugene (Jak Roberto), Yummy’s childhood friend and the object of her ‘puppy love’. Her unrequited feelings faded as they grew up but little did Yummy know that Eugene is already developing feelings for her now that they are older.

In ‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit,’ David (Dante Rivero) mulls over Mikmik’s (Sophia Reola) impact on his life. Later, emotions pour out as David opts to rectify his sin. Aware that their days with David are numbered, Michael (RK Bagatsing), James (Enzo Pineda), and Mikmik cherish their moments with the Villaluna patriarch. Soon, Mikmik makes a last-ditch effort to stop her grandfather from confessing the truth. Meanwhile, Amber (Krystal Mejes) is surprised when an unexpected person jumps to her defense.

Katrina’s (Cristine Reyes) day of reckoning has arrived. Michael also tried to find solid evidence against Katrina. Michael then obtained a crucial piece of evidence on Eric’s (Rafa Siguion-Reyna) murder. For this week’s cliffhanger, Divina (Pilar Pilapil) finally discovered Katrina’s true colors.
