At a press conference for My Bakit List produced by Viva Films and Bluart Entertainment, 27-year-old actress Louise Delos Reyes finally confirmed she was living with her non-showbiz boyfriend.
According to Louise, they have been living together for a year now, along with her best friend and a mutual friend in their home. She also shared that when her mom was still alive, she got mad upon knowing Louise was planning to live with her boyfriend but then eventually accepted her daughter’s decision.
She said: “May mom passed away six months ago, nung umpisa, nagagalit yung mom ko, the usual, ‘yung ano ba ginagawa mo sa buhay mo. But then again, naisip niya na I have my own life, I’m working hard, and alam naman niya na hindi ako ganun klaseng anak. And I think, sa mga bashers, wala ako masasabi eh. Kasi nasa day and age tayo na kahit anong sabihin mo may masasabi at masasabi sila.”
Louise considered the live-in setup for a couple as a practical way of living where you have someone to help you pay the bills and do the grocery. The My Bakit List actress explained that when you get married immediately, it would be expensive to undergo the divorce process.
“Sa U.S. puro ganun yung set-up, nagkaka-anak na sila, it’s a practical way of living. Kapag nakapagkasal kayo, nagpa-divorce kayo mas mahal.”
But then, she never forgets what her parents have instilled in her. She’d still want to get married first before giving birth.
“I still do, ayaw ko magka-anak before marriage kasi meron pa rin akong values as Filipino na kailangan kasal. Stick pa rin ako sa sinabi ng magulang ko na kasal muna bago anak.”
Louise started working as early as right years old, and her first acting stint was with the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano for Pilyang Kerubin in GMA Network in 2010. She has done several TV shows in GMA and just last year she played the character of PO3 Katrina Velasco in Coco Martin’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
