Celebrities, influencers using their reach to help the poor during enhanced community quarantine

The pandemic COVID-19 has forced President Rodrigo Duterte to impose an enhanced community quarantine to prevent the spread of coronavirus and lessen the numbers of infected individuals as there are 230 confirmed cases in the country as per the Department of Health (DOH).

Here are the celebrities and influencers using their reach to help the poor during this time of crisis:

Maine Mendoza continuously donates Php1,000.00 via Gcash per household for them to buy food and other essentials. Anyone who is in dire need of financial assistance including street/market vendors, construction workers, street sweepers, and labanderas can ask for her donation as long as they can provide any ID and photo as proof.

Bela Padilla ran a fundraising drive called ‘Pagkain Para sa Pinoy’ targeting P1million to provide packed goods for frontliners and street vendors. She managed to raise 3.3M and spent Thursday, March 19, going around to distribute relief goods.

Anne Curtis thanked the lab people, frontliners, and even the military for doing what they can for Filipino nation. The new mom shared that she will donate to help Department of Health procure medical supplies, hygiene and sanitation supplies and services. Anne also encouraged everyone to join her and UNICEF’s fundraising drive to help DOH fight COVID-19.
