  • It could help the leaders to serve the people better amid the crisis.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray urged the public to express their views on leadership and about the country on social media amid the coronavirus crisis.

In her video conference with reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, she said that people should use social media to express their views whether on leadership, about their country or socio-economic situation.

She felt that people’s sentiments are important so leaders should be aware of their thoughts. It could help the leaders to serve the people better amid the crisis.

“I really implore everyone to use social media to express your views, whether it be for leadership, whether it be for your country, whether it be for your socio-economic situation, or what you’re going through,” Gray said

“I feel that your voices should be heard, our leaders should be able to hear that, too,” she added.

Together with Young Focus Philippines, Gray happily shared the success of her “No Work, No Rice” campaign.

“So far it’s been amazing. We’ve been able to reach 6,000 families which is about 8,000 to 10,000 individuals through donating 60,000 kilograms of rice,” she said.

“I feel like this situation has given every individual the opportunity to rise to the occasion and find the spirit of generosity, and also finding a place to give back to the community.”

Miss Universe Organization staged a live video call as part of its #UniverseUnited campaign. This aims to build a virtual community amid the crisis through fruitful conversations.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach also took part in the call with Tunzi as they talked about her online fundraiser for medical frontliners in Metro Manila.

Amidst crisis, some of the Filipino celebrities used social media to share their views on how the government handles the health crisis.

Wala silang mapag initan. Si mayor vico talaga? Kung sino pa may natutulong at maayos na sistema, siya pa kakasuhan? HANEP! Eh nasan na yung nagkalat ng virus sa makati med? So far kasi yun palang nagagawa niya. Ikalat ang virus. Mapapamura ka na lang pala talaga.

Like, seriously? Is it because he makes everyone else look bad at their supposed job?! Unbelievable. Pwede ba kayong magpaka busy sa ibang bagay?! Busy si Mayor. Tantanan nyo naman sya, please! Dami pa nyang gagawin. #OnlyInThePhils #ProtectVico pic.twitter.com/erOaKIpfHZ
