Filipino musician and TV personality Jim Paredes took a swipe at President Rodrigo Duterte after the latter slammed critics of his administration’s response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
Duterte delivered a 50-minute public address broadcast last Thursday night, April 16 wherein he asked critics about their contributions to the country amid COVID-19 crisis.
“Ito lang ang tanong ko…. Ano ang nagawa ninyo para sa bayan? ’Yan lang,” Duterte stated.

Reacting to Duterte’s statement, Paredes then said he was able to help frontliners by providing Personal protective equipments (PPE).
“Ano ang ambag namin sa bayan? We provided PPEs to our frontliners when your incompetent administration couldn’t. Okay na?” Paredes wrote in a now-deleted Tweet.
Paredes has been vocal about his opposition to Duterte and his policies. He was known as a supporter of Benigno Aquino III who served as the President of the Philippines from 2010 until 2016.
He attracted controversy in February 2017 when he berated Duterte supporters who were protesting at the People Power Monument in Quezon City.
He lied low from the attention of the public after his sexually explicit video went viral online.
