Your Guide to iWant Originals: Free Movies and Series for Your Every Mood

If you’re finding it difficult to comb through the internet to pick the right show or movie to get you through another day of quarantine, you are not alone. We’re here to narrow down your choices: Log in on iWant, which is home to 57 free original shows and movies that you can’t find elsewhere.

While 57 is still a lot, we recommend you consider how you’re feeling today then go over these choices that are worth your time:

IF YOU’RE FEELING ROMANTIC

There’s a room for everyone to fall in love in the world of iWant originals, whether you’re into casual dating (“MOMOL Nights”), missing the delight of young love (“Taiwan That You Love,” “Silly Red Shoes,” “Wild Little Love,” “Apple of My Eye,” “S.P.A.R.K.”), or a woman trying to figure out a potential relationship with the same sex (“Fluid”).

But if you’re looking for unique romances, you may invest your feelings in Arci Munoz and Pepe Hererra’s alien-human love story in “Jhon en Martian” or in the sexy romcom “Allergy in Love,” where the protagonist gets intense allergies when he’s about to get intimate. Or, why not finally catch Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca’s sizzling May-December romance in “Glorious”?

IF YOU’RE MISSING YOUR ADVENTURES WITH FRIENDS

We can’t help but long for the regular coffee dates, “inuman” all-nighters, and crying sessions with our closest buddies. But instead of mindlessly scrolling through your social media apps, we might want to stream these “barkada” shows that will remind you just how lucky you are to have great people who will always be there for you through the ups and downs.

Follow the misadventures of a group of middle-aged women in “Call Me Tita,” the mission of teen superheroes to save the earth in “Spirits Reawaken,” and millennials adjusting to adulthood in “Manilennials.”

IF YOU NEED A SHOT OF ADRENALINE

Get your blood pumping and your mind racing with iWant’s mix of psychological thrillers, action thrillers, and horror thrillers – it’s all in there.

Fasten your seatbelts, because you will want to be ready when the stakes are high for Arjo Atayde, a barber-turned-politician who tries to get away with all his shady dealings in the two seasons of “Bagman,” for Elisse Joson and Barbie Imperial, social media influencers who try to escape a deadly party that feels like hell in “You Have Arrived,” or for Rio Locsin who helps her granddaughter dispose of a dead body in the thriller family drama “Kargo.”

Suspenseful twists will also leave viewers waiting for what happens next in “I AM U,” where Julia Barretto’s life turns upside down when she encounters her doppelganger and in “The Tapes,” where Yassi Pressman and Sam Milby play partner cops trying to solve a mysterious case of disappearance. A lot of chasing, searching, and hiding also happens in “High” and Mga Mata sa Dilim.”

If you’re into horror, you may also want to grab a companion when watching “MA,” “Barbara Reimagined,” and “Abandoned” because they’ve got terrifying surprises.

IF YOU’RE CRAVING A GOOD LAUGH

Break the monotony of the quarantine and keep your sense of humor alive with iWant’s star-studded comedies. You can start with the legendary Wenn V. Deramas’ final feature film “Everybody Loves Baby Wendy,” where Alex Gonzaga plays a former child star who is desperate to reclaim her fame and relevance. In the mockumentary “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken,” Eugene Domingo plays herself and attempts to prove her directing skills — with hilarious (and often socially relevant) results.

If you’re looking for a light watch, turn to the anthology series “Alamat ng Ano,” which makes fun of ordinary things by humorously exploring and formulating their origin, or the recently released “Tawa Tawa Together” with Alex Calleja and his special guests to help you get through the quarantine.

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A PICK-ME-UP AND INSPIRATION

Sometimes, we don’t need to laugh to feel good; knowing we are not alone in our loneliness and desperation is enough. As such, it’s a good idea to watch relatable characters stumble through trials and come out resilient. Like in “Past, Present, Perfect?” where Shaina Magdayao (whose younger character is played by Loisa Andalio) comes face-to-face with the root of her writer’s block. The inspirational “Story of My Life” tackles mental health and features a depressed Zaijian Jaranilla suddenly disappearing from his family’s life.

“Uncoupling” finds Yam Concepcion dealing with the blows of her marriage’s dissolution, while the Jodi Sta. Maria-led “My Single Lady” mixes a little bit of everything – ‘kilig,’ relief, and hope – to tell the story of a single mom who weathers all kinds of difficulties to raise her son. The advocacy series “Mga Batang Poz,” meanwhile, follows HIV-positive teens who find love, self-acceptance, and friendship.

IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW

Many people are developing new hobbies while in quarantine, so why not learn something new about things you’re not familiar with? Currently, iWant has documentary shows “The Last Manilaners,” which chronicles the struggles of Jewish refugees who fled their home countries to seek refuge in the Philippines during the Nazi regime. “Dayories,” meanwhile, details the experiences of UAAP basketball stars Rhenz Abando, Ricci Riverom and Ange Kouame who had to leave their families to pursue a sports career.

You may also want to update your travel bucket list after you watch “Unlisted,” where Sue Ramirez and Robi Domingo take you to lesser known tourist spots in the country and makes a case for why you should visit Capiz, Samar, and Rizal.

And if you’re home with your kids? Get them to pick up some important lessons from “Jet and the Pet Rangers,” iWant’s adventure-packed first animated Filipino series.

These iWant original shows and movies are all available for streaming for free on the iWant app (iOs and Android) or iwant.ph. For updates, like www.facebook.com/iWant, and follow @iwant on Twitter and @iwantofficial on Instagram, and subscribe to www.youtube.com/iWantPH.
