In the first episode of his “Talk about Talk” show on his newest YouTube channel, Boy Abunda spoke about his friends Mike Defensor, Yedda Romualdez, and Martin Romualdez from Congress who voted for ABS-CBN’s franchise denial.

The King of talk was asked by a netizen named Clark on how he felt about his friends’ decision over the ABS-CBN franchise.

Abunda confirmed that the three were his friends and there were others who were also part of the 70 Congressmen who voted for the termination of the network.

The host then said he was hurt by their decisions however, he emphasized that he can live in differing opinions and he respect the opinions of his friends.

“I totally dissent, I passionately opposed his stand, I was deeply hurt by his vote and to this very moment, I grieve,” Abunda said.

“But I can live in differing opinions,” he added.

Abunda then shared about his other friends’ stand on the issue of same-sex marriage.

“I have a lot of friends who don’t believe in a same-sex marriage, but it’s not tantamount to ‘I’m not gonna talk to you forever because you don’t believe in the causes I believe in,'” he said.

Abunda then expressed appreciation as he got a call a day before the voting, informing him about the stand of his friends. But accordingly, that cannot remove the pain for losing a job he loves so much.

He also said though he was hurt, that doesn’t mean he would already unfriend his friends who have different opinions from him.

“I was hurt, I want them to know I was hurt, I will move beyond this pain but I’m hurt, I lost a job. But, I cannot unfriend a friend simply because you think differently from me.”

During the previous election, Abunda campaigned for the Romualdezes and so during the interview, he was asked whether he will still endorse the politicians for the future elections.

He then replied: “I don’t know.”

Abunda said he wants to have a ‘quiet conversation’ with Mike and his friends who voted against the ABS-CBN franchise renewal to understand them better and know where they are coming from.
