On the last quarter of 2020, Viva Entertainment continues to keep the happiness of the mass viewers its first priority, hence comes its partnership with the Kapatid Network, TV5.
First to emerge from this partnership are five new dynamic shows from CignalTV and SariSari produced by Viva from TV5 to bring cheer, excitement and inspiration to people of all ages, especially in these trying times.
“Masked Singer Pilipinas”, to be hosted by Billy Crawford, is set to premiere on October 24 at 7 PM on TV5 Primetime block. Based on the hit South Korean Show, “King of Mask Singer”, which has also been adapted in the US, this show will put you in awe of the show-stopping performances of celebrity contestants concealed in masks and costumes.
Every week, our celebrity judges: Cristine Reyes, Kim Molina, Matteo Guidicelli, and Aga Muhlach will give their ratings that could eliminate and unmask one of the highly confidential masked celebrity singers.
“Ghost Adventures”, the high-rating comedy-horror series, returns for a second season to pump up your mood every Saturday, starting October 31. Par Jack (Benjie Paras), the country’s famous ghost whisperer, continues to help ghosts cross over to the after life. But someone in purgatory feels threatened by Par Jack’s abilities and vows to keep him from succeeding in his mission. Empoy Marquez and Kylie Verzosa join Paras in this amazing adventures.
“Bella Bandida” will be the new superhero to promote women empowerment as she fights all kinds of injustices. Starring Ryza Cenon, this is going to be her first title role after her remarkable portrayal of characters such as Georgia Ferrer on Ika-6 na Utos, Aubrey Hidalgo on Ang Probinsyano, and Jessie de Leon-del Fierro on The General’s Daughter. Starting November 23, follow the story of how Bella Bandida gets to acquire super powers that will help her take down bad elements in the society. This is loosely based on Francisco V. Coching’s comic book of the same name.
Back in the year 2000, Master Director Erik Matti kept audiences awake with terrifying tales in a show called “Kagat ng Dilim”. This year, critically-acclaimed directors Richard Somes, Lawrence Fajardo, Paul Basinillo and Rae Red are guaranteed to quench your thirst for some jump scare experiences with every dark tale that will feature Filipino folktales, myths, creatures and urban legends. “Kagat ng Dilim” also premieres on November 23.
Last but not the least on the list of Viva’s first 5 on TV5 is “Onstage”, where you can relish the moments that made history in the concert scene. Viva and TV5 will take their winning collaboration all the way to year 2021 with another eight exciting shows!
Viva, being the undisputable star maker that aided Sarah G in becoming the Popstar Royalty, will launch the second season of “Born To Be A Star.” The show aims to find the next multimedia performer who will be recognized globally. Janine Teñoso, who is now known as OST Princess, is a product of the show’s first season.
“Puto”, the well-loved Pinoy character popularized by Herbert Bautista in the 80s, will be given a new life that suits the modern times. This fantasy comedy series will follow Puto’s adventures with three dwarfs who can grant him three wishes.
“Republika Origins”, based on a graphic novel by Epik, will introduce us to Liway and Nario characters that come from the lineage of various national heroes and possess special powers. Together, they embark on a journey of finding other descendants of heroes to prepare themselves for a big war that’s about to happen.
Five of the said eight shows are going to be local adaptations of record-breaking foreign shows.
“The Wall”, a game of chance produced by Lebron James, will provide a rollercoaster of emotions during the gameplay and will capture human drama in the end.
“1000 Heartbeats”, a game show that originated in the UK, will test how much pressure a contestant can handle. 1000 heartbeats will be the time limit to answer a series of questions ranging from general knowledge, sequencing, mathematical problems, and more. The electronic heart-rate counter worn by the player will determine if he/she has run out of heartbeats.
“Encounter”, a romantic-drama series, will revolve around a woman’s efforts to move on from her failed marriage, finding a new love prospect, only to face another conflict.
“Ninja Kids”, an action-adventure series, will bring together teenage online gamers who face a formidable threat in real life. Now, they must level up their game from online to actual combat.
With this powerful lineup of programs, this partnership between Viva and TV5 will surely be a blast this year and the years to come.
