Internet sensation Chino Liu, popularly known as Tita Krissy Achino, became part of Team Payaman’s vlogs recently and just reached one million subscribers on YouTube.
In an interview, Liu was asked how he came up with the new characters beside Tita Krissy, and how Team Payaman helped him in becoming the vlogger he is right now.
Chino revealed that he already had plans to retire ‘Tita Krissy’. He admitted that his “Tita Krissy” personality really helped in ways that he couldn’t imagine and he was thankful for that. However, he wanted to become like Michael V. who has the ability to portray different characters. That is where his first character ‘Badong’ came in who was introduced by his fellow vlogger Viy Cortez.
“I wanted to be like Michael V., na this is Michael V, but I can do Krissy, I can do Badong, I can do Cely and all,” he said.
“Nung pumupunta punta na ako doon [Payamansion] nang walang make-up, tinatawag nya [Viy] akong Badong kasi parang yung itsura ko parang boy na… ang bagay na pangalan sakin, Badong,” he added.
That is where his first character, “Badong” was born. Technically, the character is the “male version” of Chino. At first, he was not comfortable portraying Badong since he feels that whenever he’s in Tita Krissy’s personality, he is respectable.
“I get respect. I get the feeling na respectable ako whenever I am wearing the make-up, the Kris outfit and all,” he said.
The second character, which was “Aling Cely”, started with Viy’s boyfriend, popular vlogger Lincoln Cortez Velasquez a.k.a. CongTV who came up with the “Congshop”. Chino narrated that he and Cong were having coffee when the latter asked if he noticed the second floor of Payamansion and the people using the computers.
“Magshu-shoot ako. Bigla-bigla mamaya tutukan nalang kita nang camera,” Cong said.
It was Chino’s initiative to put headband, to put fake boobs, and the feisty attitude so that he could bring life to Aling Cely.
“It was my own flavor. It was my own…kumbaga perception of how a computer shop owner should be. Because at one point in our lives, may nakilala tayong parang si Aling Cely na hindi man computer shop owner pero yung minsang malaki yung boobs tapos masungit na babae tapos nagmumura, nagtata-talak. So parang masa siya,” he said.
The characters he portrayed in Payamansion helped him get out of the Tita Krissy persona. He became content creatot for Team Payaman and at the same time, he was given the opportunity to depict someone other than Tita Krissy. However, Chino emphasized that Team Payaman can only help by being in one’s vlog, by boosting the YouTuber’s influence and it is up to that person to seize the opportunity by creating quality content and uploading it.
“You have the car and you have your friends who will help you, pero you have to have that engine, kailangan meron kang fuel to keep going,” he said.
Chino Liu’s other characters in Team Payaman were his impersonations of Enigma, Beau Belga.
