Actress-host Alex Gonzaga indirectly admitted that she accepted her TV5 noontime show Lunch Out Loud (LOL) hosting job because of the high salary. This was during one of the show’s segments where the hosts were forced to answer questions while being attached to a lie detector toy.
On Monday, November 16, the hosts of LOL did a “Lie Detector Challenge” where they would answer questions asked to their hand was on a lie detector toy. If the toy detected that a person was lying, the person’s hand would be electrocuted.
Alex’s co-host, Billy Crawford, asked her if she accepted the hosting job because of the high salary.
“Totoo bang kaya tinanggap mo ang ‘Lunch Out Loud’ dahil napakalaki ng sweldo mo?” Billy asked.
Alex denied the statement saying, “No.”
However, the lie detector toy said otherwise that’s why Alex was electrocuted which made her fellow co-hosts laugh.
The 32-year-old host defended herself explaining that the reason she accepted to be a part of LOL was because of her love for her co-hosts and co-workers. She said that she loves the people she works with both on and off-cam.
“Tinanggap ko ang Lunch Out Loud dahil mahal ko ang mga ka-trabaho ko dito on and off cam,” she said.
Lunch Out Loud (LOL) premiered on TV5 on October 19 and airs alongside the long-running noontime shows from other networks such as Eat Bulaga! on GMA Network and It’s Showtime on Kapamilya Channel and Zoe TV.
The show is produced by Brightlight Productions and airs from 12 noon to 2 pm from Monday to Saturday. Aside from Alex, some of the other hosts who were former Kapamilya stars include Bayani Agbayani and Billy Crawford.
Previously, Alex trended on social media after being absent in the early episodes of “Lunch Out Loud.” It was later revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 that’s why she was not able to be on the show.
Through her vlog on her YouTube channel on October 23, Alex revealed that she contracted the virus along with her parents, fiancée Mikee, and household member Sophie.
She documented her “COVID journey” where she explained the progression of her symptoms and her coping mechanisms.
Alex has already made a full recovery from the virus and is currently back in the noontime show “Lunch Out Loud.
