Richard Yap is surprised because the Kapuso fans know him

“I was surprised kasi akala ko hindi ako kilala ng mga Kapuso fans. It turns out na kilala rin pala nila ako.”

Richard Yap was welcomed warmly by Kapuso fans as he signed his contract with the GMA Artist Center.

On December 16, Yap officially became the newest artist of the GMA Network, adding up to the network’s roster of talents.

The actor was overwhelmed with the support he received from the Kapuso fans as he moved to the GMA Network.

He was shocked to realize that GMA supporters recognize and admire him.

“I was surprised kasi akala ko hindi ako kilala ng mga Kapuso fans. It turns out na kilala rin pala nila ako.

“Of course coming from another network, you’re expecting na hindi sila nanonood sa’yo and all that. It’s really [a] welcome surprise na kilala rin pala ako ng fans. So, it’s very heartwarming.”

Yap launched his career with his role as Papa Chen in ABS-CBN’s My Binondo Girl (2011).

He rose to fame because of his role in the Kapamilya series Be Careful With My Heart (2012), where his tandem with Jodi Sta. Maria was supported by fans.

Fans are also fond of calling him Sir Chief because of his iconic role in the latter series.

When netizens knew about his shift, the “#RichardYapisnowKAPUSO” trended online.

They are excited to see Yap back again on TV after about a year.

A netizen said that he was waiting for more of Yap’s projects and finally, we have something to look forward to.

Other netizens are also raising suggestions for his possible partners however, most of them wishes him to be paired up with Alden Richards in a BL series.

When Richard Yap guested on Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Judgmental, speculations arise that he is already bound to shift to the GMA Network.

Now that he’s with GMA, should we expect a new image of Richard Yap? Or we will be seeing the same just like what we saw in his previous network?
