Doris Bigornia rushed to the ICU after suffering from a heart attack, family seeks prayer for her recovery

Elchico and family ask for prayers as the Mutya ng Masa will need an open heart surgery

In today’s episode of DZMM TeleRadyo’s “S.R.O”, host Alvin Elchico delivered a bad news. Viewers of the show were looking for his co-host Doris Bigornia who was not present since Monday.

According to Elchico, Bigornia, popularly known as “Mutya ng Masa”, suffered a heart attack last Sunday. She is in the ICU and will be needing open-heart surgery.

Elchico also shared during the show that Bigornia’s family is asking for prayers from everyone.

Elchico further said that although Bigornia is conscious, she still needs to undergo open-heart surgery.

Kasi the show is not the same kung wala po ang Mutya ng Masa.

Bigornia is one of ABS-CBN’s veteran journalist and field reporters. In 2006, she left the Kapamilya Network due to management issues and pursued freelancing as a reporter. However, in 2013, she returned and was given her own show, “Mutya ng Masa”, a current affairs program aimed at touching people’s lives. Aside from having her own program, she also hosts “Umagang Kay Ganda” while doing reports for “TV Patrol” and “Bandila”.

With her talent, she became a co-host of Suhestyon, Reaksyon at Opinyon (S.R.O.), a DZMM TeleRadyo program. Together with Elchico, they analyze issues with varying perspectives. Bigornia’s wit and humor, provided lighter discussion of pressing issues.

Bigornia has undoubtedly dedicated her life in delivering news the Filipino masses need. Now that she needs our help, let us offer our prayers to the speedy recovery of our “Mutya ng Masa”, Doris Bigornia.
