‘Ang sa Iyo ay Akin’ actress Rita Avila took to social media to express her dismay over a netizen who claimed that the actress is just using her director husband Erick “FM” Reyes.
The netizen said that Rita is just using her husband to cover up for her lousy acting in ‘Ang sa Iyo ay Akin’ as FM is one of the directors of the said series.
On Thursday, February 4, Rita posted a video clip on her Instagram account where she explained how much she was hurt by the basher’s assumptions about her husband.

She described the basher as a demon because the netizen wanted to hurt her emotionally.
“Yes, demonyo dahil ang tanging gusto lang talaga niya ay makapanakit at tapakan ang pagkatao ko,” Rita said.
She said that what angered her the most is how the netizen included her husband in the fake accusations about her personality.
“Ang ikinagalit ko, o ikinasama ng loob ko, ay ang pagdamay pa niya sa asawa ko. Pintasan na ng lahat ang karakter ko, ang pag-arte ko, huwag lang idamay ang asawa ko,” she said.
The 52-year-old actress explained that she can accept if the netizen just bashed her acting skills. However, she couldn’t take it when the netizen said that her husband was there to cover her up.
“Sinabi ng demonyo na ‘yon na ako ang ‘kulelat’ sa artihan sa ‘Ang sa Iyo ay Akin,’ sige fine. Pero nung sinabi niya na ‘di bale nandiyan naman ang asawa mo para iangat ka,’ masakit na po ‘yon,” she said.
She said that she and her husband are not the kind of people that the netizen assumed them to be and noted that they are doing their jobs as an actress and director properly.
She also mentioned that she has been in the showbiz industry for a long time that’s why the netizen has no right to judge her acting skills. She also said that her husband doesn’t deserve the harsh words said to him as she noted that FM is a good man.
“Kung anuman ang iniisip ng malisyoso diyan na kapag asawa ko, kailangan kasama ako sa cast, kapag asawa ko, dapat ganito ganyan na parang trapo ako, na wala akong napatunayan sa sarili ko, matagal na po akong artista. Sabihin niyo na pong laos ako — fine. Hindi ko naman iniisip, wala akong ilusyon na sikat ako, hello? Pero ‘yung para sabihin na kaya naman akong iangat ng asawa ko — huwag ganoon, dahil hindi kami ganoong klaseng tao. Maayos po kami, simple kaming mag-asawa. Maayos kaming magtrabaho alam nila ‘yan,” she said.
“Ako tuwing may trabaho nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos. Ganoon lang ang buhay ko, trabahador katulad niyo. Pero huwag na huwag niyong bigyan ng dumi ang relasyon namin just because mag-asawa kami at nagtatrabaho kami bilang direktor at aktres, ‘di ko kaya ‘yon, ‘di ko kayo mapapatawad. Napakabuti ng asawa ko at hindi ako bobong artista na kailangan pang hilain niya,” she added.
Rita mentioned that the netizen who bashed her and her husband has already deleted his Instagram account.
Rita Avila and FM Reyes have been together for over 2 decades since they first met in the set of the series ‘Marinella’ in 1999. In the long years that they’ve been together, the couple only had 3 opportunities to work together in a series which includes “Ang sa Iyo ay Akin.”
