Behind his viral ‘brief’ scene in a recently released teaser of ABS-CBN’s newest series Init Sa Magdamag, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson admitted to being shy facing his leading lady Yam Concepcion wearing his underwear only.
According to Anderson, the scene where he only wears underwear in front of Concepcion was awkward.
Prior to the said scene, he thought that they would continue their scene until the last part. But a wardrobe staff suddenly approached him and handed him a brief.
“Nakaka-ilang, na nakakatawa ang eksena na nag-brief ako. Ang set up kasi, ang eksena tuloy-tuloy kami. Lumapit sakin ang wardrobe, binigay ang brief. Sabi ko, ‘ano ‘to, bakit brief lang?’ Yung una, parang speedo pa ang binigay, na sobrang revealing talaga,” said Anderson.
The actor admitted that he wasn’t quite ready for the scene yet and asked the wardrobe personnel to find him some other underwear.
“Sabi ko, hanap tayo ng ibang brief, hindi pa ako ready sa ganyan. Sobrang bakat kasi,” he said.
Despite being shocked by the ‘brief thing,’ he was glad for their director Mae Cruz-Alviar’s protective nature, to the point where she, too, wears a brief to make him feel comfortable with the scene. Her effort significantly meant a lot for Anderson to do the scene.
“Nabigla ako. Pero noong ginagawa namin eksena, eh, unang pagsasama namin ni Yam ‘yon. Kasama yon agad. Pero, ang mga director namin very protective.
“Ang ginawa ni Direk, nag-brief din siya sa harap namin para ipakita sa akin na para maging kumportable ako. Yung effort niya, ganito gawin mo, nag-brief lang siya, malaking bagay ‘yon,” he revealed.
Anderson said that he was grateful to be working with a director who is both passionate and competent, noting that this is his first time working with actress Yam Concepcion, and 30 people are working behind the camera.
“Masarap makatrabaho ang mga director na sobrang passionate. Hindi naman kailangang gawin yon pero pinakita niya sa akin.
“Kaya very thankful ako na may nakasama ako na ganun ka-professional na tao,” he added.
As of this writing, the Init Sa Magdamag scene drop one, featuring Anderson’s sexy appearance, has already breached 3.6 million views on Star Creatives TV’s official Facebook page.
In the said teaser, Rita (who is played by Yam Concepcion) was irritated by their room’s heat. Rita’s roommate, Tupe (who is played by Gerald Anderson), suddenly removed his trousers, stripping down to his undies with a motive of seducing her.
ABS-CBN’s new offering “Init Sa Magdamag,” starring Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion, and JM De Guzman, will premiere on April 19.
