Kapuso Mom, Chynna Ortaleza, admitted that she felt guilty when she had to leave her kids at home when she returned to work after focusing on taking care of her children.
In a zoom conference with fellow Kapuso Moms for Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 9, Ortaleza said she struggled when returning to her acting roots after taking care of her 5-year-old, Stellar.
“Sobra akong nahirapan. Parang I stopped kasi, I took a break from taping, for a year when I was pregnant with Stellar. Then, it took a couple of months before I tried to you know guest. So first, it was Magpakailanman.”
She then shared feeling doubts and guilt as a mother for her decision to go back to work.
“Grabe talaga yung pakiramdam ko na wala ako sa tabi nya, and definitely there was some guilt involved na parang, am I this? Is this the right decision? Ganyan.”Â
However, she came to a realization that helped her cope with missing her children.
“But, I think it was more of an adjustment thing din than talagang totoong mali yung ginagawa ko, kasi nga I was trying to figure out kung I was ready na ba to again focus on my career.”
Ortaleza also thanked the support from her family and husband, Kean Cipriano, that helped her in being both a mom and career woman.
“But then, I have a supportive family. And I have a supportive husband who kept on reminding me na it’s also important for me to take some time off from being a mom and focus on something that you are passionate about, which is acting.”
After giving birth to her daughter Stellar, Ortaleza worked on several GMA Network teleseryes such as Mulawin VS Ravena, Ika-6 na Utos, and Victor Magtanggol. As a career woman, she once shared that she wanted to become a GMA Network head.
Ortaleza also has another child named Salem.
