The star for the BL series “Stuck On You” had to stray away from his BL partner Jerome Ponce for some reason.
Flores and Ponce’s pairing in ABS-CBN’s “A Soldier’s Heart” became a hit even though they were only supporting roles.
Thus we were shocked to find out he was not Ponce’s co-actor in “Ben X Jim”.
In an exclusive interview with LionhearTV, Flores explained how he was not able to get the part for the BL series with Ponce.
“Hindi naman part agad pero na-offer sakin yung Ben X Jim. Pero dahil sa Bagong Umaga, hectic ang schedule kasi locked-in kami. At after ng locked-in bawal lumabas eh. So di talaga siya pwedeng masingit,” explained the actor.
Due to COVID-19 protocols for productions, Flores, who was still doing “Bagong Umaga”, had no choice but to let go of the role of Ben. Although he suggested that the production for Ben X Jim be moved to a later date, it was, however, not possible.
“So kinausap ako ni Jerome, ni direk Easy. Nagbigay ako ng dates pero hindi talaga kaya. Tsaka hindi rin ako pinayagan kasi mas focused kami sa Bagong Umaga. Eh lalo ngayong pandemic bawal mag-segway.”
Ben X Jim became a BL hit in 2020. Ben X Jim returned earlier this year with additional cast members.
Instead of BenXJim, Flores is doing a BL series with newbie actor Iyo Canlas titled, “Stuck On You”. Upon asking what he thinks about his co-star, Flores was nothing but appreciation to Canlas.
“Actually si Iyo bilang isang baguhan, magaling siya, mahusay. Nagawa niya yung karakter at parang wala akong makitang ibang gaganap na Reb, walang makitang ibang artista na babagay sa karakter,” lauded the actor.
