Celebrity vlogger Alex Gonzaga came up with a funny way to deny being a supporter of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte—parody.
In her parody of the movie Four Sisters and a Wedding, called, Four Sisters and a Welding, Alex discreetly denied being a Duterte Die-hard Supporter (DDS). She made it clear during the charades scene.
That particular scene tackled each of the cast’s personal issues. For Alex, it was the perception of many that she was, in fact, a DDS, resulting in the backlash she previously received. However, based on her parody, she made a clever way to clear her name.
She said, “Uy dinner lang yun, wala lang yun” after her “sisters” Zeinab Harake, Donnalyn Bartolome, and Michelle Dy pointed to Alex and shouted, “DDS?!”
Does this mean that Alex is not a supporter of the Philippine President?
Although she did not explicitly denounce being a DDS, through the lines she delivered, it was clear that she is no longer a supporter of the Duterte Administration anymore.
Meanwhile, netizens, though some were surprised, loved Alex’s witty denial.
She's not DDS anymore? https://t.co/S9SMIhmmXg

Back in the 2016 election campaign, the Gonzaga sisters supported Duterte and Bongbong Marcos. Toni was seen attending Marcos’s vice-presidential campaign. At the same time, Alex was spotted attending a private dinner at the Malacañang Palace, which served as a thanksgiving for celebrities who supported President Duterte.
Alex denied being close to the Marcoses. She explained that she does know them but is not really close to them.
It seemed that Alex already turned a new leaf. During ABS-CBN’s fight for its franchise renewal in 2020, the actress-vlogger got mad with a Netizen when she was called a DDS.
She is most likely now giving her support to Vice President Leni Robredo as she featured the VP in her YouTube vlog on April 3, 2021.
As of this writing, the parody of Alex already reached 6.1 million views on YouTube.
