Julia Baretto’s answer on September 9 suggests that a person should be ready to get out of a relationship when the partner gives up.
In the virtual press conference of TV5’s upcoming teleserye Di Na Muli where Barretto top-bills, she answered that she would only leave the guy if he doesn’t love her anymore.
“Siguro I will only walk away from a relationship kapag ayaw na nang isa. I will only walk away if he walks away.”
Though she is not in a situation where she has to choose whether to stay or to leave, Barretto believed that it is about trusting one’s instinct when would be the right time to exit.
“Nasa kutob yan eh, nasa pakiramdam. Pero, I will only walk away when the person I’m in a relationship with wants to walk away.”
Walking away in the relationship, according to the actress, was out of respect to the partner who already gave up.
“So, hindi na, ‘wag na pilitin. Don’t force somebody to be in a relationship with you if they don’t want to be with you anymore. And I think that’s the time, you know, to walk away as well,” she stressed.
The actress is happily in a relationship with actor Gerald Anderson. They announced their relationship back in March following the actor’s controversial breakup with Bea Alonzo.
In the meantime, Barretto will mark her return in primetime with Di Na Muli. Her last primetime teleserye was in 2018 when she starred in the Kapamilya show Ngayon at Magpakailanman together with her former boyfriend, Joshua Garcia.
“Very, very excited. I think the last show I did was Ngayon at Kailanman,” she expressed.
This will also be new for the actress since her latest series will be aired every Saturday, 8 p.m.
“Pero bago ‘to kasi first time ko makagawa ng show na weekly. As a K-drama fan, excited ako sa ganitong setup. Kasi yung K-drama ‘di ba weekly lang din, abang-abang tayo, abangers tayo for new episodes.”
Joining Barretto in the show are Marco Gumabao and Marco Gallo. The cast also includes Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, Baron Geisler, Krissha Viaje, Andre Yllana, Lander Vera Perez, Katya Santos, and Joe Vargas.
