Mariane Osabel, the latest GMA Network singing competition The Clash champion said on Wednesday, December 22, that one of the show’s judges made her confident to win it all.
Following her win earlier on December 19, Osabel reminisced Lani Misalucha’s comment during one of her performances in the competition: that she was like an indestructible wall.
“Yung pinaka-tumatak na comment sa ‘kin is from Ms. Lani. Yung sinabihan niya po ako na para daw po akong isang wall na parang mahirap talagang gibain,” shared the singer during her virtual media conference.
Osabel further stated that the comment was based on her experience and her journey as a singer.
“Kasi sa dami ko na pong na-experience, madami na din po akong napupulot na kumbaga madami na akong nabaon. Mahirap daw akong gibain. So totoo po ‘yon kasi ang dami ko na pong napagdaanan eh. Madami na rin po akong nasalihan na mga contest na hindi po ako nanalo.”
Misalucha’s appreciation had an effect on Osabel as the latter admitted it made her even more confident to compete.
“Opo! Tumatak po talaga ‘yon sa akin…Nag-boost po ‘yon ng confidence sa akin and yun po yung isa sa mga binaon ko na naging motivation yung comment ni Ms. Lani sa akin.”
The singer will also partake in GMA Network’s upcoming Christmas Special Paskong Pangarap as she gets to perform alongside Misalucha, Rita Daniela, and fellow The Clash champions, which to her was surreal.
“Sobrang overwhelming po. Yung time na ‘yon na nagdu-duet kami nina Ms. Lani, nina Ms. Rita, and ni Jeremiah (Tiangco), parang sabi ko, ‘Grabe totoo ba ito?’ Parang panaginip.
“Parang dati pine-pray ko lang ito tapos ngayon bigla nagkatotoo na. Naii-starstruck pa rin ako sa kanila. Hindi ko mapigilan na, ‘Oh my gosh, ang galing nila.’ Minsan parang nasasabi ko na, ‘Kaya ko ba? Kaya ko bang maki-duet or maka-collab sa kanila?'” the singer expressed.
Despite being the latest addition to be aligned with extraordinary artists, Osabel revealed that she was welcomed by them with open arms.
“Pero thankfully hindi nila pinaramdam sa akin na bago palang ako. Pinaramdam talaga nila na welcomed ako kumbaga.”
Osabel then expressed her desire to collab with Misalucha who is also her childhood idol.
“Si Ms. Lani kasi siya talaga yung childhood idol ko eh. Simula sa pagkabata ginagamit ko na yung mga masterpiece niya,” pointed Osabel.
She even added that she was “prepared” to have a showdown with Asia’s Nightingale if given the chance.
“Opo pero sana mabigyan ako ng pagkakataon,” she hoped. “Miss Lani baka naman! Hahaha!”
Osabel as the newest The Clash champion will be bringing home P4 million worth of prizes including a P1 million cash. house and lot, and an exclusive management contract under GMA Network.
