On her YouTube vlog uploaded on Tuesday, February 1, Kyline Alcantara reacted to bashers who said she is not good at acting.
Alcantara explained that she is not conscious of how she looks during heavy drama scenes.
“During heavy dramas, wala po talaga akong pake sa mukha ko, as in, wala talaga akong pake. It’s not about how I look, it’s about how I feel. As long as maramdaman ng audience ‘yung nararamdaman ng character ko at that moment in time, okay na po sa akin ‘yun,” she said.
“Wala po talaga akong pake kung pangit po talaga ako.”
She also added that several veteran actors commented that she has skills in acting.
“Most po na nakakatrabaho ko, sinasabi naman po nila na marunong ako umarte. Oh, I don’t need to prove myself.”
Currently, she is portraying the role of Tiffany in the series I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.
Alcantara began acting at age seven.
Her television debut was via Star Circle Quest: Search for the Next Kiddie Superstars (2010–2011), where she got eliminated first.
From 2011 to 2017, Alcantara gained domestic recognition for her supporting roles in ABS-CBN television series: Annaliza (2013–2014), Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015–2016), and Born for You (2016).
With Alcantara’s departure from ABS-CBN, she transferred to GMA Network in October 2017.
Referred to as Kapuso breakout star at her time in GMA Network, she played leading roles in Kambal, Karibal (2017–2018), Inagaw na Bituin (2019), Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit (2020–2021), and I Can See You: #Future (2021).
She won several awards in her acting career.
In 2018, she won as the Best New Artist of The Year (Female) for Aliw Awards, Most Promising Female Star for TV for Alta Media Icon Awards, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Asian Academy Creative Awards, and Best Drama Supporting Actress for PMPC Star Awards for Television.
