Kapamilya actor and certified Kakampink Edu Manzano has reacted to insinuations that he’s overly dramatizing Vice President Leni Robredo’s viral evening boat ride in Basilan.

In his recent tweet, Edu commended a netizen who he said was one of the few who got the main point of his tweet about the Vice President’s boat ride.
“You’re right. One of the few who got it. Thank you. Who cares about the bangka, it’s the time of day. Even soldier movement there is preferred in the daytime. Sheesh talaga!”

Netizen @hernameiseric tagged Edu in her tweet about a circulating Facebook post bashing Edu for allegedly overdramatizing the photo of VP Leni’s boat ride during her people’s campaign rally in Basilan.
The netizen pointed out that Edu’s tweet was about VP Leni’s bravery to ride a “bangka” in the evening and not just about coming to the rally by boat. The netizen also narrated that even she (who’s from Mindoro) is afraid of traveling at night in a boat.
“Anong drama dito? @realedumanzano was referring to her being matapang to travel “at night” by boat. Sheeesh. Kahit ako pag umuuwi ng Mindoro at gabi ang byahe, iniisip ko, syet pag lumubog to pano ako hahanapin, madilim. La ng ma-issue?”

VP Leni, Senator Kiko, and their senatorial line-up were in Isabela, Basilan, on Wednesday, March 16, for their people’s campaign rally. VP arrived at the rally site in the evening riding a “bangka”.

Meanwhile, the issue came from a Facebook post bashing Edu, saying VP Leni arrived in Basilan through a speedboat or even a yacht and just took a “bangka” for pictorial purposes.
However, organizers in Basilan said that while VP Leni and Sen. Kiko rode a speedboat. They disembarked in another port and rode a bangka to join some of his supporters conducting a “bangkaravan.” Those supporters are beneficiaries of VP Leni’s Angat Buhay Programs.
