The highly talked-about dinner scene pushed the TV show to match the record set by the 2021 inspirational TV series–Huwag Kang Mangamba.
The Broken Marriage Vow did not only set a new Kapamilya Online Live milestone on Tuesday, March 8; it also delivered the highest TV rating a second primetime slot show has ever delivered by a Kapamilya show, ever since ABS-CBN shut down in 2020.
Last Tuesday, concurrent live viewers for the Jodi Sta.Maria-starrer surpassed 130,000. That figure is now the highest achieved by any Kapamilya show airing on the second time slot, in nearly two years.
The said dinner scene, which served as among the highlights of various Doctor Foster adaptations around the world, took social media by storm, with netizens highly commending Sta. Maria’s intense but compelling portrayal. Viewers quickly drew comparisons between the Filipino adaptation and the original and other versions, with many concluding Sta. Maria ate other versions with her incredible take of her role.
Based on AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) overnight data, the Broken Marriage Vow posted a combined TV rating of 9.0%. That’s just 0.2% short of beating its rival Kapuso show, Widow’s Web, which pulled off a 9.2% rating on the same night. The Kapamilya drama airs on TV5 and A2Z Channel 11 on free TV, and Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV on pay television.
Interestingly, this 9.0% posted by The Broken Marriage Vow just eclipses Huwag Kang Mangamba’s record, which is set on November 19, 2021, during its finale week. That means it is still up to the show’s upcoming big revelations and big confrontations to push the show to set a fresh new record for ABS-CBN’s second prime time slot.
That said, it’s worth noting again that the show is already statistically tied with GMA Network’s suspense drama, Widow’s Web, which is just in its second week on air.
