An argument on who is better between He’s Into Her star Donny Pangilinan and aspiring congressman Sandro Marcos trended on social media Tuesday, March 22.
Pangilinan, 24, is an avid supporter of Vice President and presidential candidate Leni Robredo. At the same time, Sandro, 28, is the eldest son of yet another presidential bet; former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr is vying for a seat in Congress.
The Kapamilya actor voluntarily supports Robredo and her running-mate, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, as the reason for his presence in the rallies. On the other hand, Marcos’ son was present on his father’s campaigns to woo Filipinos to vote for him.
With elections nearing, supporters of both aspirants compared the two, with BBM loyalists claiming that Sandro has better accolades than the actor they describe as “gwapo lang.”

Fanatics of Marcos Jr were supporting Sandro for his career as a public servant. Some of them even ridiculed Pangilinan.
“Ang tanong may ambag ba si donny sa bansa? Si sandro, public servant, tumutulong sa tao. Eh si donny? Tumutulong ba? Wag pairalin ang kalandian,” said a netizen.
In terms of achievements, the son of Marcos Jr clearly is far ahead of the actor. Robredo supporters insisted that the actor was not running for any government seat.

Twitter personality Jacques Lakan also wondered how BBM supporters ended up comparing Sandrom from the Kapamilya actor.

Filmmaker Rod Singh even clapped back at Marcos supporters for boasting Sandro’s achievements but was mum about his father’s.

Social media personality Inka Magnaye quoted one BBM supporter explaining that Sandro could “stand on his own” even without his father’s name. However, she questioned why they (supporters) could not do the same to Marcos Jr.
“Remove the Marcos from his name, his attributes and credentials are more than enough to make him stand on his own.”

While Sandro has the advantage in education, former ABS-CBN employee France Sajorda shared a comment from Pangilinan’s professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman revealing that the actor was a “good student.”

A Twitter personality in support of Robredo found the son of Marcos Jr to be “not that amusing.” She was also puzzled why Sandro’s credentials were being used to promote his father.

A netizen pointed out that Robredo’s daughters should be compared to Sandro in terms of educational attainments when it comes to comparisons.
