Last Monday, May 23, actress Jaclyn Jose was overwhelmed by GMA Network’s trust in her capabilities after giving her projects after projects.
The actress just finished doing The World Between Us and Nagbabagang Luha and is now part of the upcoming Kapuso series Bolera that stars Kylie Padilla, Jak Roberto, and Rayver Cruz.
“May mga indie pero nagpapasalamat ako sa GMA. Kasi dere-deretso ang bigay nila,” expressed Jose during the show’s virtual media conference. “With our directors and the people surrounding the series na mga nagagawa ko, I’m so lucky to have them. Nagpapasalamat na dere-deretso ang trabaho.”
Aside from The World Between Us, Nagbabagang Luha, and Bolera, she also appeared in the Kapuso drama anthology series Dear Uge and Tadhana. The actress also played a role in the sitcom My Daddy’s Gurl.
“Siyempre ‘pag ganoon, lalo kang gaganahan. Kailangan—hindi man husayan kundi i-portray niyang mabuti ang character mo, ang role mo. Para maging effective, para kunin ka ulit ‘di ba? Para tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho.”
Jose, who won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress in 2016, assured the viewers that her latest project is as good as her previous shows.
“Kasi dadalhin namin ang bilyar sa bahay ng mga tao. I’m sure hindi pa nila nakakalimutan si The Magician.”
Meanwhile, the actress was asked to describe Padilla. She said that the young actress, during the entirety of their taping, was never “pa-star.”
“Sobrang sipag ni Kylie, kaya bilib ako. Kahit wala siyang taping, sumisipot siya sa set at nag-a-A.D.. Lahat ng kasama sa set, masasabi mong okey at wala ‘yung pa-importante,” she said. “Walang pinagbago, ugali, mukha, lahat, kagalingan. Magaling na siya dati… focused siya eh. She’s not suplada at all. She’s very very jolly.”
Jose also commended Padilla’s respectful attitude.
“Iyong kabaitan andoon pa rin eh. ‘Yung pagsabi niya ng po at opo hindi mo na matatanggal sa kanya iyon eh. Kapag nagsalita ng ganoon ang isang bata, ang isang anak, ibig sabihin marespeto.”
The seasoned actress added that she sees her daughter Andi Eigenmann in Padilla.
“Pangalawa, siyempre, kapag ganiyang mga bata, parang si Andi na rin ang tingin ko diyan eh, parang anak ko na rin totoo.”
“This girl (Padilla) is sobrang masarap maging anak,” admitted Jose.
Bolera also includes seasoned actors Joey Marquez and Gardo Versoza. It will begin airing on May 30 every Monday to Friday at 8:50 p.m.
