On Wednesday, June 8, rumors surfaced online regarding the alleged transfer to GMA Network of Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo together with her husband-actor Matteo Guidicelli.
According to veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin, the couple is set to transfer to the Kapuso Network.
“And thinking na taga-VIVA sila, siyempre si Boss Vic (del Rosario) ang nagmamaniobra nito, co-production to. Kasi sila na nagpi-pitch ng kung anong project ang gusto nilang gawin. Magmi-meeting na,” claimed Fermin during an episode of her Showbiz Now Na! earlier on Friday, June 3.
Meanwhile, there were also speculations that the Kapuso Network dismissed a project proposal from Guidicelli. However, the Kapuso executives denied such allegations.
Showbiz reporter Dondon Sermino, through his YouTube channel, then revealed that the actor and the Network have yet to have a meeting. Unlike the rumors online, GMA Network clarified that they are very much open to whatever Guidicelli will offer.
“Hindi pa raw talaga sila nagmi-meeting nina Matteo. Wala pang chance na magharap sila. Pero within this week, eh matutuloy na ang meeting na iyon. At very open naman ang GMA sa kung anong p’wede nilang mapag-usapan ni Matteo,” he said.
Apparently, within this week, he and the broadcasting company will sit down and talk about a “project.” There is also a huge possibility that his wife could be part of it.
“Marami ang nagwi-wish na sana matuloy ang project na ‘to dahil who knows, baka si Sarah Geronimo ang kasama dito sa project na ito. Kung hindi man, siyempre, kung nasaan si mister, andoon din si misis,” speculated Sermino.
To recall, Geronimo has been a Kapamilya since 2004 but her career began as a mainstay in GMA Network’s Sunday variety show SOP.
Guidicelli, on the other hand, was initially a Kapamilya before transferring to the Kapuso Network in 2009. He returned to ABS-CBN in 2010 for his titular role in the primetime fantasy television series Agua Bendita.
