The Chito Roño-helmed action-fantasy series will debut on various ABS-CBN platforms in August.
High praises came aplenty for the first official trailer of ABS-CBN’s Darna. Some netizens, however, did not simply express their awe for the upcoming TV series. They also want recreations of some hilarious scenes from past TV adaptations.
Prior to the release of the trailer, netizens got hyped up by the series’ poster, which contained several Easter eggs. The trailer amplified that excitement, and gave even more reasons why they should not miss the new TV adaptation of the iconic Mars Ravelo creation.
Amid the rave reviews for the trailer, some witty netizens could not help but wonder whether or not ABS-CBN’s Darna can have its version of some of the funniest scenes from the past TV adaptations–particularly from the 2009 Marian Rivera-starrer.

Velasquez-Alcasid notably had a guest appearance on GMA Network’s 2nd TV adaptation of Darna in 2009.
The singer-host played the role of Elektra, a powerful being from a planet called Venusa. She is said to have adopted the ‘swardspeak’ or local queer language, which explains her speaking style and mannerism.
Another Twitter user, with the handle @jaecorde shared a clip which shows Darna and Elektra flying. “Kung walang ganito, salamat na lang sa lahat #DarnaTrailer (If the new Darna TV series does not have this scene, I will skip it),” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Chrisissippii wants this chukle-worthy scene, where Marian Rivera called Regine Velasquez “bakla,” to be recreated by Jane de Leon. “need jane to recreate this scene in darna! #DarnaTrailer,” her tweet reads.

Mark Malolos even swore not to check out the show if it won’t include a similar scene.
