On November 7, Enzo Pineda revealed his girlfriend Michelle Vito’s advice about taking on sexy roles.

At the media conference for the film Call Me Papi, Pineda said that Vito reminded him to take things slow when accepting sexy roles to avoid getting typecast as a sexy actor.

“Siguro ang advice lang sa akin ni Michelle, maghinay-hinay kasi may tendency na baka ma-typecast na lang ako sa mga sexy roles at hindi na ako makapag-progress or makakuha ng roles outside that.

“So siguro hinay-hinay lang, for me as an actor naman, it’s very important na to at least, do this type of role once in your life para masabi mo na nagawa mo siya.”

He also cited how he valued Vito’s opinions on sexy roles offered to him.

“Ako siguro, nirerespeto ko ‘yung kung ano ‘yung gusto ni Michelle and I understand where she’s coming from, and siguro sa mga roles na ginawa ko before I can say that I’ve been through a lot of sexy roles, like including this and including sa mga ibang roles na ginagawa ko.”

He also explained that the roles he accepted that showed sexy scenes had purpose and depth behind them.

“:Tsaka nagkataon naman sa akin ‘to na lahat ng sexy roles na ginampanan ko, actually magkakaiba naman po siya. Hindi naman po siya same story as the other, kumbaga sexy siya, iba ‘yung genre ng sexy niya.

“So ako naman, I have to be conscious about it kasi siyempre as an artista marami din na tao who look up to us, na iniidolo kami. So the roles that we get–somehow reflect our personality.

“Pero sa mga roles naman na ginampanan ko, I can say that they all have a bigger purpose than going sexy kasi ‘yung mga characters na kinukuha ko, may value and depth.”

He then asserted that he was lucky to have Vito as his romantic partner.

“Sa akin naman hindi, very blessed na si Michelle naman ay mataas ang pasensya. May mga moments na I can say na medyo pasaway po ako, and I’m just really blessed to have her, na somebody who loves me unconditionally.

“Para sa akin naman po hindi nasira, ‘yung mga barkada ko, pati mga kuya ko, sila mismo ‘yung nagsasabi na I’m very lucky to have Michelle, na very conservative, na somebody who looks out for my well-being.”

As for their upcoming movie, Call Me Papi stars Pineda with Albie Casiño, Royce Cabrera, Lharby Policarpio, and Aaron Concepcion.

Call Me Papi, produced by Viva Films and Feast Foundation and under the direction of Alvin Yapan. Ir will premiere in cinemas on December 7.
