The Kapamilya leading man is one of the additional members of the already impressive ensemble cast of the Richard Gutierrez-starrer.
Three years after appearing in the discontinued ABS-CBN series, Make It With You, Kapamilya leading man, Ian Veneracion, is finally returning to primetime. But unlike in his previous TV shows, the heartthrob actor is doing an action, the genre he got famous for in the ‘90s.
Veneracion had sort of a reunion with the genre late last year when he starred Prime Video’s limited action-drama series, One Good Day. In The Iron Heart, Veneracion is reuniting with Richard Gutierrez, whom he worked with in the 2019 film, Unbreakable by Star Cinema.
It is the first time the two Kapamilya stars work together in a primetime series.
The full details of Veneracion’s role in the top-rating action-drama series remain undisclosed. It hinted at via a teaser released by Star Creatives Television that the actor will play the role of a “Secret Boss.” Though, not clear yet which side he is playing in the series. The current main antagonist of the show is Albert Martinez’s “Engineer.” who is currently at the helm of the powerful crime syndicate, Tatsulok.
Richard Gutierrez’s character, Apollo Adelantar, works for an elite secret agency that aims to bring down top criminal organizations in the country. Will ‘The Secret Boss’ be revealed as Apollo’s higher boss, or will it be introduced as the real force behind Tatsulok? The upcoming episodes of the series will reveal the answer.
The Iron Heart has been consistently doing great in TV ratings, according to the data provided by Nielsen Philippines. Last January 3, with a people rating of 6.3, it came very close to its rival Kapuso show, Mano Po Legacy: Flower Sisters, which posted a 7.4 people rating. It was also its highest rating since its November 14, 2022 debut.
