The Kapuso leading lady is the only artist from GMA Network playing a major role in the three-part film collaboration.
Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla seemed to be on cloud nine, having been able to work with Kapamilya leading man Gerald Anderson, whom she described as someone she admires. The pair stars in the Switzerland-set romantic flick, Unravel, which is one of the offerings under Star Magic and MAVX Productions’ three-movie collaboration deal.
The partnership was officially publicized during its first media conference this year, held on January 6.
Talking about her being able to work alongside Anderson and other Star Magic artists, Padilla shared that she remains in disbelief.
“Ako hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin makapaniwala na nagawa ko itong movie. Kasi ako talaga, I’ve been a supporter . I’ve watched their films. Talagang it’s an honor for me to be able to work with someone whom I’ve admired. So hanggang ngayon talaga, kapag tinitingnan ko ang poster, hindi ako makapaniwala,” she said , noting how working alongside the Kapamilya actor made her realize how hardworking and dedicated to his craft he is.
“It’s just an honor talaga kasi I just observed how he worked and I learned a lot,” she added, as she also recalled how the project debunked her initial negative impression about Anderson.
“He’s very full of humility. I thought di ba, parang may ego, mayabang, may ganon. But no. When I was working with him, he was very quiet. Natuto ako ‘dun—you don’t have to be loud to be someone in this industry.”
Anderson, meanwhile, described Padilla, for the first time, as ‘refreshing’. He expressed his gratefulness to GMA Network for lending one of their talents, especially Padilla, whom Anderson regarded as ‘very professional’ when it comes to working.
“More than anything, nakakabilib talaga si Kylie. May intense at medyo nakakatakot na ginawa, but as you can see in the trailer. For the passion, for the love of MAVX, for love of the movie, talagang ginawa niya. Yung professionalism niya, ‘yung passion niya para sa trabaho. Ang ganda na nga ng Switzerland, ang ganda pa ng ng naging partner, kasi talagang naging mas madali ang trabaho,” the actor noted.
Other than the film starred by Gerald Anderson and Kylie Padilla, the three-part film collaboration between Star Magic and MAVX, also include Swing, starring RK Bagatsing and Jane Oineza, and I Love Lizzy, starring Carlo Aquino and Barbie Imperial.
