The young Kapamilya artist showed no sign of being threatened by the seemingly relentless influx of upcoming talents.
Sheena Belarmino first made a profound impression on showbiz, when she emerged as one of the grand finalists of the first and only, kids’ edition of the long-running ‘It’s Showtime’ segment, ‘Tawag Ng Tanghahan’.
Alongside the TNT Boys (Kiefer Sanchez, Mackie Empuerto, and Francis Concepcion), and grand winner, Jhon Clyd Talili, Belarmino navigated her young career outstandingly. She is now one of the mainstay performers on the Sunday noon-time musical variety show, ASAP Natin ‘To.
Through ASAP, Belarmino has showcased her show-stopping talent, alongside industry icons and newcomers. It’s a real wonder how the so-called new gen “birit” idol has been able to remain unperturbed, despite new faces, whose talent could rival, or possibly, outshine hers. Threatened, however, isn’t her initial reaction whenever a promising newbie arrives on the scene.

Belarmino believes that aspiring talent should be nurtured and showcased on every platform possible. It’s an idea she undoubtedly learned from her own experiences in the industry. She has performed through various means like social media and television.
“Kaya nga kapag may dumadating, as much as possible we (should) always give them platforms to showcase their talent,” she shared adding, “Yun po, sinusuportahan ko po ang mga bagong artists natin.”
Aside from her weekly appearance on ASAP, Belarmino also hosts the interactive show, ‘Pak Na Pak’, on PIE Channel. Last year, she starred in the iWantTFC series, ‘Lyric and Beat’, alongside other young Kapamilya artists.
