Entertainment columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis recently shared her candid advice for actor-TV host Willie Revillame in her latest post.
The seasoned showbiz personality did not hold back in expressing her thoughts, particularly about Willie’s recent career decisions and the departure of Jopay Manago, his former talent coordinator.
In her post on social media, Lolit addressed the issue that had caused her to be upset with Willie, the removal of Jopay Manago from her position as his talent coordinator. She revealed her concern for Jopay’s situation, stating that after losing her job, Jopay was placed in a Home for the Aged as she was alone in life. While acknowledging that her anger should be directed towards Jopay’s relatives, Lolit couldn’t help but worry about Jopay’s circumstances.
On a positive note, Lolit emphasized that she simply wanted to see Jopay’s situation improve and hoped that her relatives would find time to visit her.
Moving on to Willie, Lolit offered some “constructive” advice for the TV host. She advised him not to insist on being in the spotlight if he feels that his career as an entertainer is declining. Instead, she suggested that Willie should take a break and wait for people to seek him out again before returning to the limelight.
“Kay Willie Revillame naman may constructive na payo naman ako, huwag ipilit kung medyo nag slide ka na as an entertainer. Hintayin mo na lang ulit na hanapin ka ng tao bago bumalik sa harap ng kamera. Huwag ipilit kung talagang hindi ka na hinahanap ng tao,” she said.
Her advice was to allow himself time to rest, reflect, and come up with fresh ideas and jokes that would resonate with the audience. She emphasized that forcing oneself into the spotlight when there is minimal interest may not yield the desired results and could even lead to burnout.
Lolit’s message was clear: it’s essential for entertainers like Willie to take a step back, reassess their careers, and come back stronger when the time is right and the audience is eager to welcome them back.
“Pahinga muna. Mag isip ng mga bagong jokes. Tignan uli kung ano gusto ng manunuod. Puwede naman pahinga muna. Huwag pasok ng pasok pag di mo pa oras dahil hindi pa interesado mga tao sa iyo. Wait muna para bongga.”
This is not the first time Lolit has provided advice to Willie. Just last July, she suggested that he take a temporary hiatus from the industry and return only when there is a demand for his presence.
As of now, it has been a month since Willie Revillame last appeared in public after he canceled his contract with ALLTV due to low viewership. The question remains unanswered: which network will be the next home for Wowowin, the TV show hosted by the beloved entertainer? As Willie takes the time to consider his next move, fans eagerly await his return and the potential revival of his show.
