The Kapuso artists who will headline the ‘Sparkle Goes to Canada’ tour impressed Johnny Manahan on March 12 that they will have another concert, possibly within this year.
The tandem of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco (BarDa), Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid (RuCa), and Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz (JulieVer) were so brilliant in the eyes of the veteran star builder that the network already had countries lined up after their show in Canada.
“Yes, we have plans for these artists,” said Mr. M during the tour’s press conference at GMA Studio 7. “The more I rehearse with them, the more I find out na ang galing nila.”
Manahan worked with them for five months and immediately saw their potential. According to him, the network is already looking to start a tour in Japan and potentially in Dubai as well.
“Maybe sa Japan this year,” said the film and television director.
Manahan even jokingly stated the brilliance of the Kapuso artists merit tours as grand as the Eras Tour of international pop icon Taylor Swift.
“Kakalabanin namin ang ginawa ni Taylor Swift sa Australia,” he quipped. “Magaling sila. I was surprised. Ang galing na nila, lalo na ‘yung David.”
The tour begins on April 5 at the Southview Alliance Church in Calgary, Canada, and will be filled with singing and dance performances from the multi-talented BarDa, CaRu, and JulieVer. They will end the event at the Toronto Pavilion on April 7.
