LILY (formerly Callalily) is embracing a brighter future, choosing to leave past controversies behind and concentrate on their music.
The OPM band delivered an electrifying performance on March 6 at the 70’s Bistro in Quezon City, coinciding with the announcement of an upcoming music video for their remake of the hit song ‘Magbalik.’ LionhearTV had the opportunity to chat briefly with the new lead vocalist, Joshua Camacho Bulot.
In June 2022, former lead vocalist Kean Cipriano departed the band and laid claim to the group’s name, leading the remaining members to rebrand as ‘LILY.’ Later that year, they introduced Joshua as Kean’s replacement.
When asked about the band’s state after the controversy that shook them two years ago, Joshua responded, “Actually, ano eh… kumbaga hindi na namin masiyadong pinag-uusapan (Actually, we now rarely talk about it).”
“More on, focus na lang kami sa growth ng band namin as LILY talaga. Kumbaga, ‘yung mga issues na iyon, hindi na namin pinapansin, or may mga bashers pa rin na parang ayaw sa akin as vocalist (We now focus on our band’s growth as LILY. It’s like those issues, we ignore them, or those bashers that still do not like me as a vocalist),” he added.
Despite having only two years together, Lem Belaro, Aaron Ricafrente, Nathan Reyes, and Alden Acosta, Joshua emphasized that the group’s bond is stronger than ever.
“Chemistry namin nandoon na, and lahat ng mga… kahit outside LILY eh… mga problema namin, nagdadamayan na kami eh. Mas on fire na kami ngayon, like lahat competitive within our group (The chemistry is there, and we turn to each other for support for all problems outside LILY, even problems outside LILY. We are now more on fire, and we became more competitive).”
With a new name and vocalist, LILY is shifting its focus to creating new music. They have pledged to release new music every two months, starting with the remake of their hit song ‘Magbalik.’

“Focus na kami sa new songs talaga eh. Pero dahil iconic ‘yung song na ‘Magbalik,’ kailangang i-record namin siya (We really focus on new songs. But because ‘Magbalik’ was such an iconic song, we have to record it),” Joshua explained.
The new version of the song will feature a new intro and additional lyrics, with a music video starring former child actor Jiro Manio set to be released this month.
